This repeater sits above Custer SD on Bear Mountain. It has mobile coverage from Rapid City to Newcastle. It can also be accessed from Casper Mountain with a mobile radio and 25 watts. There is a nightly net which welcomes visitors as well as a weekly swap shop.
While active, this machine does not get much use except by mobiles as handhelds are a little to weak to reliably hold the repeater.
